
Hugh Prys Jones is a director based in the Bangor office of Williams Denton.
Hugh, who has been with the practice since September 1987, is a Fellow of the ACCA and ICAEW, as well as being a Senior Statutory Auditor.
Having graduated in accounting at the University of Kent at Canterbury, Hugh worked with Touche Ross & Co and Coopers & Lybrand among others before moving into industry, where he worked at both financial director and MD level.
Hugh has a mixed client portfolio of small and medium sized businesses and is able to use his personal experience of running a business as well as his accounting expertise, to maximum effect.
Hugh was born in Caernarfon and is a fluent Welsh speaker. He is married with four children.

Keith Barker is a director based in the Bangor office of Williams Denton.
Keith trained with Deloittes in Chester before moving to Williams Denton in 1991. He is a Fellow of the ACCA, as well as being a Senior Statutory Auditor.
Keith has a keen interest in all types of businesses and charities. With a keen eye for detail and an ability to read behind the figures, he has undertaken a range of investigative work and has invaluable experience in carrying out audits at clients’ premises. Keith also has an ability to take an holistic view of a client’s financial and business affairs, no matter how complex, in order to help structure them in the best possible way.
Married with three children, Keith lives in Anglesey. Having gained a GCSE in Welsh, he understands more of the language than he can speak. Outside of work he enjoys walking in the North Wales countryside and watching films.
Keith recently completed the Bangor 10k with four colleagues from Williams Denton, raising much-needed funds for North Wales Air Ambulance.

Colin Bell is a director based at the Bangor office of Williams Denton.
Colin, who has been with Williams Denton since April 1988, is a Fellow of the ACCA, a Member of the AAT and a Senior Statutory Auditor.
While keeping a general portfolio of clients, Colin has particular expertise in owner managed companies and charities. He is also active in assisting new start-up businesses and delivers regular presentations, in association with local enterprise agencies, where he helps demystify the basics every business needs to know about record keeping and tax.
Colin is responsible for all of the IT within Williams Denton and also helps clients simplify their bookkeeping by recommending accounting software solutions.
Married with two children, Colin lives in Holyhead and is a keen football fan as well as being an active member of Holyhead Round Table. He is also chair of governors for a local primary school.

Peter Denton is the founding director of Williams Denton, an accountancy practice employing 35 staff based in Bangor and Llandudno.
Peter is a member of the Institute of Directors and a Fellow of the ACCA. In recognition of his 34 years experience working with and advising small businesses, he recently sat on a panel that drew up the Micro-Business Report for Wales. This independent report provided recommendations to the Welsh Assembly Government, detailing how to support the sustainable growth of micro-businesses in Wales.
Peter has also acted as a budget spokesperson for the ACCA, offering a small business perspective on the Chancellor’s plans for the economy.
He holds a mixed portfolio of small and medium sized businesses that include a number of hotels, caravan parks and other tourism and leisure businesses.
Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1978, Peter spent time working for Pricewaterhouse, Thompson McLintock and Caer Rhun Hall before setting up his own practice in Bangor in 1984.
Married for 35 years, he has three grown-up daughters living in London, Brighton and Calgary (Canada). His other passions in life are rugby union (he is a former player and referee) and more recently crown green bowls.

Janet Jones is a director based in the Llandudno office of Williams Denton.
Having gained a degree in law, Janet joined Williams Denton in 1985 and became a director in 2001. She is a Fellow of the ACCA and a Chartered Tax Adviser.
During her time at Williams Denton Janet has developed an in-depth knowledge of accounting for GP and dental practices.
With health policy being devolved to the Welsh Assembly, funding streams can differ significantly in Wales compared to other parts of the UK. Janet has therefore built up a rare and specific expertise in accounting for doctors and dentists working within the NHS in Wales.
Janet’s large portfolio of primary care practices in North Wales also gives her the ability to benchmark GPs across the region and, in doing so, help her clients make the most of their budgets.
Janet is highly regarded as a seasoned tax planner. Alongside her medical clients, she maintains a mixed portfolio that includes hotels among a number of small and medium sized businesses.

Martin Barrett is one of three directors based in the Llandudno branch of Williams Denton.
With 20 years’ experience in accountancy, Martin has specific expertise working on the accounts of caravan parks, hotels and regulated businesses such as solicitors, independent financial advisers (IFAs) and insurance brokers. Martin is responsible for all of Williams Denton’s charity client accounts held at the Llandudno office.
Martin is a Fellow of the ACCA and the AAT, as well as being a Chartered Tax Advisor and Senior Statutory Auditor.
Born and raised in Llandudno, Martin has a specific interest in helping the local business community, recently organising a series of drop-in sessions offering free tax and accounting advice to SMEs and individuals.
Married with one son, outside of work Martin is a keen, and competitive, golfer. He has worked at Williams Denton since April 1998.
